This depends on the destination you will travel to, and on personal preferences & souvenirs. Too often, we see intermediate surfers on the latest 5'6" "Hypto Krypto" because that is what the marketing says they should be on, and they only get onto a couple of waves each session. Bring at least one board on which you feel you have plenty of paddle power and length. Bring the type of surfboards that you are used to ride and that you feel comfortable with (minimum 2, preferably 3). In the Maldives and in the Mentawais, we recommend bringing your own surfboards. If a NSP type of funboard or fish is something that you would like to surf, we do have those types of boards available.ĭon't hesitate to contact us if you are an intermediate surfer and want to check if we have the board you are looking for before booking your trip. Buses depart out of San Jose Terminal Central de Tracopa, en San Jose, Entre Calle 05 y Avenida 20 en Plaza Viquez. You’ll want to take the route 601 fro San Jose to Paso Canoas (on the Panama border), where you can continue on to Laurel, Bella Luz, and on to Pavones. There are two local airlines Sansa Airlines () and Nature Air () that both fly connections from SJO to Golfito, where you can take a taxi to Pavones. This will allow you to make connections more easily to Pavones, Costa Rica. Travel by Air: We suggest flying in/out of SJO. But either way, you’ll need to expect a bit of extra travel time to get here, which is why we always suggest staying for 10-days minimum to really get a feel for the place. There are several ways to get to Pavones, some more efficient than others. Getting to Pavones, Costa Rica can be a daunting task to the uninitiated surf traveler.
